Description

This title provides exercises designed to work the pelvic floor and strengthen the muscles supporting the spine, preparing the pregnant woman for the baby's birth. It should also be suitable for use in the months after giving birth, to help women regain a flat stomach and the longer, leaner, stronger physique Pilates is famed for. The exercises use only body weight and gravity so there's no excessive straining, and teach gentle, controlled movement, so there's no unnecessary bouncing around. The book gives postural and breathing advice, and uses techniques that should relax as well as energize, thus alleviating any tension at this potentially stressful time.
