Author's Bio
Gill Lewis has adored animals for as long as she can remember. From building a mini hospital for insects in her garden as a child, to working as a vet in the wilds of Africa, her life has been full of fascinating wildlife adventures. She lives by the sea in West Wales with her family and a menagerie of animals. She writes about our human relationship with animals and the wild world. Gill's previous titles include A Street Dog Named Pup, Sky Hawk, White Dolphin, Sky Dancer and The Closest Thing to Flying, and have won and been shortlisted for numerous awards. She studied at Camberwell College of Art, and then graduated from the University of Derby with a First Class degree in Illustration. Pippa has illustrated covers including The Boy at the Back of the Class by Onjali Q Raúf and Malory Towers by Enid Blyton, and written/illustrated her own picture books and young fiction, including The Big Freeze and the Indigo Wilde series.
