Author's Bio
Jane Anderson has been a travel writer and editor for over 25 years, beginning her working life on a magazine for travel agents and heading off to Antigua for her first assignment. Once her kids came along, 18 and 15 years ago, her focus turned to enriching family travel experiences which landed her the job of editor of Family Traveller magazine. She is currently Travel Editor at Prima magazine and also contributes to Good Housekeeping, RED, the Telegraph and iPaper, among others. She is the author of the Footprint guides Dorset, New Forest & Isle of Wight with Kids and Brittany with Kids. Jane is particularly interested in local adventures and how to travel sustainably, giving children life-enhancing travel experiences close to home. Having travelled around the world, from the Maldives to Vietnam, often with her two children, she genuinely feels that the UK is one of the best and most rewarding places to explore with youngsters - with the added benefit of no flying or jetlag. Holly Tuppen's passion for travelling the world responsibly started in 2008 when she set off on an around-the-world-without-flying adventure. After sailing, cycling, walking and hitchhiking across oceans, deserts and mountain ranges, Holly returned to spread the word about sustainable travel through marketing for the Green Traveller website and editing Green Hotelier magazine. Since her two boys came along, eight and six years ago, she's been continuing to travel slowly, but a little closer to home. Holly loves nothing more than discovering locally owned, independent experiences and places to stay, and believes that supporting these places is not only better for communities and the planet but also improves any holiday. An expert in sustainable travel, working as a writer and consultant, Holly writes for the likes of The Guardian, The Times and Condé Nast Traveller. Her first book, Sustainable Travel: The Essential Guide to Positive Impact Adventures, was published in June 2021.
