Author's Bio

Jane Nicol is Head of Education and Learning at St Richards Hospice and a Registered General Nurse. During her career she has worked across a range of clinical settings in both primary and secondary care, enabling her to develop a broad knowledge and skill base. She previously taught pre-registration nursing students at the University of Worcester and University of Birmingham. Jane’s specialist areas of teaching are the care and management of people living with long term conditions and palliative and end-of-life care. Lorna Hollowood is a Registered Adult Nurse and Lecturer in the School of Nursing at the University of Birmingham. Lorna has a clinical background in District Nursing and palliative care. She teaches on a variety of modules with a focus on public health, long term conditions and contributes to palliative and end-of-life care teaching across the programme.
