K. W. M. (Bill) Fulford is Emeritus Professor of Philosophy and Mental Health in the University of Warwick Medical School, Fellow of St Cross College and Member of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Oxford. Between 2005 and 2011 he was Special Advisor for Values-based Practice to the Department of Health. Edward Peile is Emeritus Professor of Medical Education in the University of Warwick Medical School. A Fellow of three medical Royal Colleges, he was awarded the President's Medal of the Academy of Medical Educators in 2009 for his lifetime contribution to medical education.
