Author's Bio
Mike Tomkies gave up his life as a journalist in Hollywood to study grizzly bears in Canada, later settling in the remote lochside cottage where he wrote Golden Eagle Years, which he recently republished with a new introduction after it had been out of print for a decade. His bestseller, A Last Wild Place, was commended by the Duke of Edinburgh and in 1988 he was made an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland.
