Description

Big Cat Phonics for Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised has been developed in collaboration with Wandle Learning Trust and Little Sutton Primary School. It comprises classroom resources to support the SSP programme and a range of phonic readers that together provide a consistent and highly effective approach to teaching phonics.

Join a family as they clean up the rubbish along a river in this non-fiction book, written by Clare Helen Welsh.

Pages 14 and 15 contain a fun “I Spy” Letters and Sounds activity, which uses visual support to help children embed phonic knowledge.

Reading notes within the book provide practical support for reading with children, including a list of all the sounds and words that the book will cover.

Author's Bio

Clare is a former primary school teacher, turned children's writer. She is delighted her books mean she can continue to inspire children to love language, themselves and the world around them. Inspired by her time as a mental health champion, Clare founded Books That Help, to gather picture books touching on a range of issues that help when the words are hard to find. When Clare isn't fulfilling her dream of writing for children, she is helping aspiring writers do the same. I am Nathalie Ortega, a professional freelance illustrator with years of experience in creating art for children’s books. I have drawn for as long as I can remember, I was always making doodles, modelling with clay, creating cloth dolls… And still do! My goal is to bring ideas to life in a clear and fun way. I love my work and I hope this is reflected in my illustrations. Now I work from my home studio where I live with my husband, my son and our three cats.
