Author's Bio

Professor Weidong Le is a leading neurologist/neuroscientist with a focus on neurodegenerative diseases. He was a Professor of Neurology and Director of the Parkinson’s Disease Research Center at Baylor College of Medicine, USA, and also served as a joint Professor and Director of the Institute of Neurology at Shanghai Jiao-tong University School of Medicine and Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Since 2013, he has been the Vice President of the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University and Director of Liaoning Provincial Center for Clinical Research on Neurological Diseases. He has published over 250 papers in Science, JAMA, Nature Genetics, Autophagy, Brain and Alzheimer’s & Dementia and other international journals. He has been awarded 28 research grants, including 3 NIH R0-1 projects. He is a member of the review committee of NIH, VA, INSERM, Singapore Academy of Science, and the Chinese Nature Science Foundation. He is also the Section Editor of the Brain Research Bulletin, Associate Editor of the Neuroscience Bulletin, Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease, and Cancer Medicine, and editorial board member of Autophagy, Alzheimer’s Dementia, Translational Neurodegeneration and the Journal of Neurochemistry. Professor Le has been named by Elsevier publishing house as one of the “Most Cited Chinese Researchers” for 5 consecutive years, from 2014-2018.
