It paints a wonderful picture of how life was lived in these far-off times – the terrain, the wild animals, the clothing, the sights and smells – while telling an engaging and fast-moving story.

Elizabeth Barber has worked in a variety of roles in offices, shops and farms. She has been a primary school teacher and has qualifications in creative writing. Currently, she tutors in creative writing at an adult education centre in Hertfordshire, where she lives. Stone Arrows is her first novel. Written for eight- to twelve-year-olds, it marries her love of teaching with her interest in prehistory.
