Media Reviews

A real treat. Nothing pertaining to the art of tying has been overlooked, and the knowledge is delivered in a most practical and comprehensive style. The information [is taken]to a new level: a clear video and audio presentation reinforces the descriptions of all the fly tying containing within the book. The craft of tying flies becomes a whole lot simpler.

* Rod & Rifle magazine *

The clear aim is to encourage the new tier and avoid unnecessary complexity and intimidating terminology – a very good thing! All in all, an excellent book – one that I wish had been around when I started fly-tying.) A super gift for the beginner; or for anyone teaching or coaching fly-tying this could be a great resource.

* Grayling magazine *

Multi-media format from Barry Ord Clarke, one of the world’s finest fly-dresses, also known as The Feather Bender. Highly recommended.

* Trout & Salmon magazine *

If I’m to recommend one beginner’s book in the future, this will very likely be it. This book teaches you exactly what the subtitle promises: ‘Learn All the Basic Tying Skills via 12 Popular International Fly Patterns’. Compared to many other and older books aimed at beginners, this title takes things a notch higher and embraces a modern, good looking and very functional book design as well as the online aspect.
