Description
Whether you are a wildfowler with a Labrador, a rough shooter with a spaniel, enjoy more formal shooting with a retriever, or walking-up with an HPR, this book will help you get the best from your dog. James Douglas gives you all the facts and knowledge you need to train the breed of your choice. This book fully explains how to choose the right breed of dog for you and the type of shooting you do. It then takes you from raising a puppy and its early training and care, through every step to adulthood, making training both fun and rewarding for you and your dog.

Author's Bio
James Douglas was considered by many as the trainers' trainer. He was one of Britain's best known trainers who had 30 years of experience training dogs to the highest level. He was one of the premier authorities on wildlife and field sports, a highly charismatic man with that rare ability to entertain while imparting valuable knowledge. James Douglas wrote for a number of publications over the years including Sporting Gun, Shooting Times and The Wildfowler. Tragically, James was killed in an accident shortly after completing The Complete Gundog Training Manual. The author lived in Scotland.
