Author's Bio
Mary Briggs is a Senior Lecturer in Primary Education at the Institute of Education, University of Warwick, where she teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate teacher education programmes. Mary was an early years, primary and SEN teacher for many years including deputy and headship. Angela Woodfield teaches at St. Christopher Primary School in Coventry. During her 33 years in the profession, she has taught the whole range of primary children, and has been a headteacher in two very different primary schools. Cynthia Martin is a Senior Teaching Fellow at the University of Warwick. She lectures and leads seminars on assessment and trains trainees in school on how to make effective assessment of learning. Dr Peter Swatton is Lecturer in Science Education at the University of Warwick. He was formerly Research Fellow with the Assessment of Performance Unit at King's College, University of London, and is the author of a number of books and journal articles on pupil assessment, particularly with reference to pupils' enquiry skills.
