Capturing the unsophisticated charm of Shropshire country life, this book contains a series of walks in all parts of the county, including hill walking on the Welsh borderlands. Other walks begin from villages and hamlets in the north and east of the county, such as Acton Burnell, Myddle and Welshampton. Wherever possible, the author has included details about access by train or bus as well as car to these rural destinations. Many of the walks are approximately 5-6 miles in length to suit the interested walker, although a few are shorter to meet family requirements and wherever possible cut-off points are indicated on the longer routes. All of the walks include stories about the locality, folklore, attractions and facilities offered in that particular area, and all walks are accompanied by clear maps.
