Author's Bio
'Misha Glenny doesn't just write books, he lives them' says John Kampfner of the Observer. Glenny is a distinguished investigative journalist and historian. To write Nemesis, he divided his time between Brazil and London, living for several months in Rocinha, the favela at the heart of this story. Glenny also conducted many interviews at the Maximum Security Federal Penitentiary with Antonio Lopes, who is the 'Nem' of this book. As the Central Europe Correspondent first for the Guardian and then for the BBC, Glenny chronicled the collapse of communism and the wars in the former Yugoslavia. He has won several major awards for his work, including the Sony Gold Award for outstanding contribution to broadcasting and is the author of five books, including the acclaimed McMafia and DarkMarket.
