Author's Bio

Alan Vincent is an educational consultant who has spent most of his life working in various aspects of careers education and guidance. Initially a languages teacher, he has also worked as head of careers in a secondary school, head of guidance and admissions in a 16-19 consortium, as an education business partnership manager and as a SETPOINT manager (promoting careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics). He has extensive experience in educational and vocational guidance for young people, particularly those in the 14-19 age range. He is currently General Secretary of the Association for Careers Education and Guidance (ACEG) and also manages a local 14-19 partnership of schools and a college of further education. He is the author of several books, including Look Ahead: a Guide to Working in Sport and Look Ahead: a Guide to Working Abroad and articles in a wide range of careers publications.
