Description
Cricket became the new football in the summer of 2005. And the biggest star in the England firmament is Andrew Flintoff, a tall, blond Lancastrian, who bats and bowls with a swashbuckling power and joie de vivre not seen since the heady days of lan Botham and the famous 1981 Ashes series. The Freddie Flintoff Story tells his life story in words and pictures, with quotes and comments from friends and family, team-mates and opponents, as well as containing the opinions of some the best-known journalists and commentators in the cricketing world as they have watched the new sports colossus stride across the cricketing world.

As a photocopier and teagirl, Tanya Aldred joined Wisden Cricket Monthly in 1997 and stayed long enough to see Andrew Flintoff's first Test century. She has covered cricket in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Australia and India and now freelances, mostly for The Guardian, writing about all sorts of sports. She lives a short walk from Old Trafford with her husband and baby daughter.
