Charley is worried! Her archaeologist parents are marooned on a sinking island and when an antique mirror transforms into a mysterious gateway, she too faces danger.

Transported to a parallel world, Charley meets Charles – a boy who looks eerily like her – and they soon discover they are linked to a great source of magic.

Pursued by horrific creatures but helped by a magical cat, the new friends must flee across different worlds and times after a wizard becomes determined to uncover their secret.

Their adventure takes them to the scene of a great historical battle after which they must face the wizard himself in a desperate struggle to rescue Charley’s parents and return safely home.

Stuart McPherson has lived in Glasgow for most of his life. His varied career has included libraries, researching for an archaeological group and IT training.  He wrote intermittently for many years until he was asked to write some short stories for a student SF magazine. This inspired him to write more consistently and more ambitiously, leading eventually to this novel.
