Scotland has been Barbara Sellars’ muse, both in her poetry and in her photography. Its seasons. Its nature. Its textures. Its tones. Like her poetry, her photography is delicate, sensitive and sometimes dreamy. She invites us to look close, then closer still, to focus in on details we might otherwise have missed. From a different angle. From a new perspective. She is keen to show us the mysterious and captures beautifully the atmosphere, the stillness and the silence of the natural world.

When I first saw Barbara’s work it was clear that it was very personal. The beautiful images conveyed a journey that was obviously very important and meaningful to her, and as such they have an authenticity that stands them apart.
