* THE HUGELY ANTICIPATED SEQUEL TO THE SMASH-HIT BESTSELLER, THE APPEAL * A New Play. Another Murder. Who Will Speak the Truth? It's a new theatrical season in Lower Lockwood, and the amateur thespians of the Fairway Players are starting rehearsals for their production of Agatha Christie's The Hollow. Despite divisive new arrivals, countless petty jealousies and a near-fatal accident with the lighting rig, surely this will be their greatest show to date? But someone isn't going to make it to opening night. Could it be producer Sarah-Jane's mysterious sister, lately arrived home after twenty years abroad? New member Lucas, whose shady business dealings may be his downfall? Or perhaps once-convicted murderer Issy Beck, recently acquitted but still up to her old tricks? Lawyers Charlotte and Femi must sift through the emails, texts and police reports to identify the victim and find out why the person convicted of the murder refuses to speak out in their own defence... Will they uncover the truth in time? Will you?

Media Reviews

The mystery is so good that I failed at almost every step. It twists and turns, it made me laugh many times, and gasp at others... Another absolute triumph from one of my all-time favourites -- Chris Frost, author of THE KILLER'S CHRISTMAS LIST
I didn't think it was possible to beat The Appeal, it was so good, but this was even better. It pulls you along, is full of red herrings, and ends with a twist. I absolutely loved it -- Louise Mullins, author of ONE NIGHT ONLY
PRAISE FOR JANICE HALLETT 'Agatha Christie for the 21st century * The Times *
Every page is a joy. The queen of unreliable narrators * Sunday Times *
Witty, clever and completely addictive * Mail on Sunday *
Brilliant - a mind-bending, heartwarming mystery not to be missed * Observer *
A big-hearted, ingeniously constructed mystery * Sunday Express *
Gripping, ambitious and unusual -- Sophie Hannah
Janice Hallett is playing a different ball game to the rest of us -- Ian Moore
Deviously clever and as charming as it is chilling -- Tom Hindle
