Author's Bio

Matt Ralphs (Author)
Matt Ralphs is a writer of both fiction and non-fiction books for children. His published works include Season of the Witch (Flying Eye), Secrets of the Dead, Transported and Beasts from the Deep (Nosy Crow), which won The Week Junior 2025 Award for Children's Book of the Year: Animals and Nature, Around the World in 80 Inventions (Templar Books), Norse Myths (DK Publishing), Spooky Celebrations Around the World (Phaidon) and Tales of the Damned along with Automotive, Nautical and Aviation (Big Picture Press). He has also written Fire Girl and Fire Witch (Macmillan) and Little Sure Shot (Anderson Press). Matt lives aboard a boat called Nostromo on the Grand Union Canal.

Taylor Dolan (Illustrator)
Taylor Dolan was born into a house of stories and raised in Texas. Her mother used to read to her every night, and together they made their way through the worlds of Narnia, Oz and many more. Taylor attended the Cambridge School of Art for her Master's Degree in Children's Book Illustration. She now lives in Arkansas, while using her imagination to pretend she still lives in Cambridge. She works as a full time illustrator and author on all sorts of exciting projects from re-illustrating classics like The Phantom of the Opera (The Folio Society) to writing and illustrating her own series, 'Ghoul Scouts' (Guppy Books).
