Melanie Porter is a graduate of the prestigious Central Saint Martin’s College in London. She spent 10 years working as a knitwear designer for a number of international fashion brands before turning her expertise to furniture. Melanie creates one-off contemporary designs using antiques sourced at auctions and markets – each project is painstakingly stripped back to the frame and restored or reupholstered using a series of hand-knitted panels. Her ability to create exquisite, textured fabrics that are individually knitted and felted for every project has drawn the attention of clients and press all over the world.
