Media Reviews

A beautifully illustrated story, helping to explain and give greater understanding of dementia to young people. -- Youth Engagement team, Alzheimer’s Society
A carefully crafted tale about the relationship between grandparent & grandchild but #TheTide by @ClareHelenWelsh also touches upon memory loss using a gentle metaphor of the ebbing tide. An emotive story beautifully illustrated by @AshlingLindsay who never fails to deliver -- Picture Books Blogger
The Tide is up there as one of the most heartwarming books I've seen. If you're looking for a book to explain families, growing older & living with dementia in the most child-friendly & resonating way, this is the book you need. Perfect for use throughout the primary school. -- Scott Evans
"The way Clare has handled her subject is perfect - the analogy of memory ebbing like the tide is so powerful and a brilliant way of broaching the subject with children... The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous too - Ashling is one of my favourites! -- Fiona Lumbers
This story is all about family, with lyrical text and beautiful illustrations, it's a compassionate book. Perfect for children who have a loved one with dementia. -- Absolutely Mama Magazine
