The book introduces readers to the incredibly complex subject of the Universe, explaining basic principles through simple, yet energetic, text and absorbing, detailed graphic illustrations. Each page feels self-contained, and yet cleverly connected to the others to give a well-rounded overview of this hugely complex of scientific subjects. It’s not an easy read (the publisher suggests 8+) but the fact that you can dip in and out makes the topic feel more approachable. It would make a terrific book for classroom use at KS2, but also a lovely gift for space-mad readers at home this Christmas! 

Aimed at children aged 8+, this fascinating book introduces kids to a complex subject in a really fun way. Sheddad Kaid-Salah Ferrón is a science and physics enthusiast with degrees in physics and pharmacy. Since graduation he has been teaching science to children, continuing to study physics, working in the pharmaceutical field and staring at the universe with his telescope. He now writes popular science books. Sheddad and Eduard Altarriba are an award-winning illustrator and author duo and have written a number of books published by GMC Publications including My First Book of Electromagnetism, My First Book of Quantum Physics, My First Book of Relativity and My First Book of the Cosmos. Sheddad lives in Barcelona, Spain.

Eduard Altarriba is a graphic designer and illustrator. He runs Alababalà, a studio producing games, exhibitions, animation, apps and practical and fun workbooks for children.
