The pages show great compositional diversity, utilizing illustrations, graphs, diagrams, sidebars, and more. A practical survey of cosmic undertaking.

This handsomely illustrated book explains vastly complicated topics about the universe at a level that is accessible to kids ages 8 to 10... This book joins two other titles from the same authors: My First Book of Quantum Physics and My First Book of Relativity. All three books in the series are worthwhile, but this latest entry is particularly good at inspiring awe about the universe.

...this incredibly complex area of science is presented in a fun and entertaining way, and the graphic illustrations are incredibly absorbing. These would make a great gift and are recommended for kids aged 8+...

* @bookbairn *

The book introduces readers to the incredibly complex subject of the Universe, explaining basic principles through simple, yet energetic, text and absorbing, detailed graphic illustrations. Each page feels self-contained, and yet cleverly connected to the others to give a well-rounded overview of this hugely complex of scientific subjects. It’s not an easy read (the publisher suggests 8+) but the fact that you can dip in and out makes the topic feel more approachable. It would make a terrific book for classroom use at KS2, but also a lovely gift for space-mad readers at home this Christmas!

* @bookishwaytoplay *

Aimed at children aged 8+, this fascinating book introduces kids to a complex subject in a really fun way. It breaks down a wide range of topics in to manageable chunks and does a great job... The layout is engaging, with brightly coloured illustrations, simple graphs and accessible examples. ...It’s definitely a book with longevity and I imagine it will be very useful for school projects in the years to come!

Engaging snippets and really clear fun illustrations mean this series is the perfect intro to some quite big ideas.
