She has published widely on Latin American film, including Painting, Literature and Filmin Colombian Feminine Culture: Border Guards, Nomads and Women (2012) and The Cinema ofLucrecia Martel (2016).Deborah Shaw is Reader in Film Studies at the University of Portsmouth, UK, where her keyresearch interests are in transnational film theory and Latin American cinema. She is the foundingco-editor of the Transnational Cinemas journal and her books include Contemporary Latin AmericanCinema: Ten Key Films (2003) and The Three Amigos: The Transnational Filmmaking of Guillermo delToro, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, and Alfonso Cuaron (2013).
