Media Reviews
Having received a review copy of Bolt Action courtesy of Osprey while writing this article, I can confirm it has all of the high production values wargamers have come to expect. The volume is colour throughout with diagrams to explain the mechanisms, plates from Osprey books and top notch painted Warlord figures on diorama-type photos. The WWll rules market is a tough one to crack and is currently dominated by Flames of war, a ruleset geared for tournament play with 15mm miniatures. Bolt Action is therefore taking on the tournament rules market, albeit with rules geared for 28mm figures and smaller forces than seen in a typlical FOW game. It will be interesting to see how this pans out. Bolt Action will be published in September and is now being demonstrated by Warlord teams at shows across the country so my recommendation is that you give it a spin and try before you buy. - Miniature Wargames.
