Michelle Sterling is an author, photographer, and speech-language pathologist who wrote the picture books When Lola Visits and A Sweet New Year for Ren. Many of her stories are inspired by her heritage, family traditions, and her love of gastronomy and food history. She lives in Southern California with her family. Born and raised in Hue, Vietnam, she worked in the design and advertising industries before discovering a great passion for illustration and picture books and becoming a freelance illustrator.
