He has authored numerous books on the subject and has contributed multiple articles to newspapers and magazines, as well as several appearances on radio. He has over a decade of professional experience in town planning and building conservation, and he also serves his community as a local magistrate. In recognition of his contributions, Daniel was awarded an MBE in the 2025 New Year's Honours list. He lives on the Wirral with his partner and pet poochon.
