Thomas Richards, formerly an associate professor of English and American literature at Harvard University, is an independent college admissions consultant. He is the author of The Imperial Archive: Knowledge and the Fantasy of Empire and The Commodity Culture of Victorian England: Advertising and Spectacle, 1851–1914.
