Author's Bio
ROBERT KILN, born in 1920, is the son of a distinguished marine underwriter, R. L. Kiln. He started work in Lloyd's in 1937 with the Bowring non-marine syndicate for which Matthew Drysdale was underwriter. His book D-Day to Arnhem with the Hertfordshire Gunners was published in 1992 IX X The Authors and reprinted in 1994. His latest book Ware and Hertford From Birth to Middle Age (with Clive Partridge) was published in 1995. STEPHEN KILN, born in 1951, is the son of a distinguished Lloyd's non-marine underwriter and author. He has now joined Syndicate 991 A. E. Grant & Others to build up the non-marine reinsurance account. His underwriting emphasis has always been to look at all classes and territories on their own merits.
