Description
While renewable energy is vital to ensuring a sustainable power grid, it is highly variable and unpredictable and electricity generation from renewables is usually small and distributed compared to traditional power generation. Energy storage is attracting attention as an effective approach to addressing the variable nature of renewable energy, as its implementation can improve grid stability, reliability, and resilience. This book focuses on fundamentals, advances, and applications of electrochemical energy storage for the grid.
• Offers a comprehensive review of various types of electrochemical energy storage for the grid.
• Covers important scientific fundamentals and practical applied technologies.
• Discusses opportunities and challenges.
This book is aimed at researchers and practicing engineers in the energy, chemical, and related engineering disciplines.
