“This one-of-a-kind book offers an intimate glimpse into the extraordinary life and career of one of pop music’s most enduring superstars. This remarkable book is a collaboration with Annie herself, featuring more than 200 stunning images, including Polaroids from her personal archives, iconic portraits by celebrated photographers such as Richard Avedon and Bettina Rheims, and stills from her legendary music videos. Her original handwritten lyrics and anecdotes accompany the photographs, offering unique insights into the stories behind the visuals and lyrics that have defined her career. Structured chronologically, the book takes readers on a journey through Annie’s life, from her early days to her rise as a global icon. Both intimate and celebratory, it’s set to be a must-have for fans eager to delve deeper into the world of Annie Lennox.” — Ultimate Eurythmics Archives
"Wild clothes, MTV, and bigger than life personalities. It’s all chronicled in her visual memoir, Annie Lennox: Retrospective from Rizzoli, coming out later this month. In the book, you’ll discover some of the stories and origins behind the looks and images that helped to make her a star. From the men’s androgynous tailoring look of Sweet Dreams to the leather mask of her third album cover that instantly became iconic." — The Grand Tourist with Dan Rubinstein
"But seriously, dear reader: Over the decades, thousands of images have been floating around in the zeitgeist. A few years ago they were sent up to the “cloud” for safekeeping and I thought it might be interesting to collate some of the themes of a life lived through music making, songwriting, performance and recording. I’m very visually led, and photographs speak a thousand words, so this book is a kind of souvenir of frozen moments, with bite-size memories and reflections to accompany them." — Annie Lennox for The New York Times
"Despite soundtracking the ’80s and ’90s both in her solo work and with The Eurythmics, four-time Grammy-winning artist Annie Lennox has maintained an elusive and enigmatic aura. Now, after nearly 50 years in the music industry, she’s published her first visual memoir: Annie Lennox: Retrospective, out this month with Rizzoli. The book features over 200 iconic and mostly never-before-seen photos from the Scottish songtress’ archives, with lyrics from her some of her greatest hits scattered throughout. But don’t take it from us—below is a selection of photos from the book, along with Lennox’s own foreword, in which she reflects on her ‘tendency to daydream” and a life in music.’” — Interview Magazine
"Engrossing captions and personal anecdotes shine light on periods of her life, to tell the stories behind the pictures. At once intimate, revelatory, and celebratory, this is a beautiful and compelling document of the woman behind one of the strongest voices in music." — Tinnitist.com
