Author's Bio

Tri C. Tran is the coordinator of the Vietnamese Language Program in the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures, at the University of California, Irvine, of which he is an alumnus. He holds an M.A. and a Ph.D., both in Romance Linguistics and Literatures, from the University of California, Los Angeles. Besides teaching courses in Vietnamese language and Vietnamese linguistics, Tran also teaches French, Spanish, and Romance linguistics. His first book, entitled Bilingual Dictionary for Students of Linguistics/Diccionario bilingüe para estudiantes de lingüística, was also published by University Press of America.

Minh-Tam Tran has a B.A. in English and a B.S. in Business Administration. She received her M.A. in Linguistics at California State University, Fullerton. In addition to presentations at California State University and University of California symposiums and conferences, she presents frequently at the annual workshops organized by The Association of Vietnamese Language and Culture Schools of Southern California. She has been teaching English and Vietnamese since 1994. Minh-Tam Tran is currently a lecturer in Vietnamese in the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures, University of California, Irvine. She also teaches Vietnamese at Long Beach City College.
