Description

Take a trip back to the rural communities of yesteryear, and immerse yourself in everyday village life as it once was. Traditional village life and the community spirit that came with it is often spoken of and longed for again, but just what was it really like to live in a country village, and what was it that makes them so fondly remembered? Here is a unique chance to recall those days gone by, as villages around Britain are revisited through first-hand memories and historical research. In addition, the most fascinating collection of photographs brings to us the places and faces so important to stories that evoke fond memories and often harsh realities, but always great humour and enduring spirit. A joyous collection that is at once absorbing and inspiring for today's reader.
