The Royal Institute of British Architects' awards celebrate a range of excellent current architecture throughout Britain and continental Europe. This book - the fifth in the series and the first in a larger format - again describes and illustrates all winners, chosen after a rigorous and exhaustive judging process. It includes the category awards (housing; commercial; sport and leisure; civic and community; health; education; conservation), the Client of the Year Award - recognition of the importance of the client's role in the creation of good buildings - and The Stephen Lawrence Award for a building costing less than [pound]500,000, named in honour of the murdered black teenager who wanted to train as an architect.
