Media Reviews
'Gloriously entertaining...a heady blend of epic riddle and historical jigsaw that is written with exuberance, confidence and passion' - GILES MILTON. 'Engrossing and highly enjoyable...a sumptuous, entertaining and informative historical romp' - SPECTATOR. 'Excellent...he attacks his task with admirable energy and enthusiasm' - SUNDAY TELEGRAPH. 'An inspiring madness, bright with medieval fervour for the obscure, yet softened by scepticism and unflagging humour...the modern mystical travelogue has here been given new life...an ending that justifies the book all on its own' - INDEPENDENT ON SUNDAY.
