Pasos 2 is the second part of a two-stage Spanish course for adult beginners following on from Pasos 1, published in September 1991. This student's book is designed for adult learners of Spanish who have a basic working knowledge of the language equivalent to the language covered in the first book. It offers 14 thematically linked units which consolidate, develop and extend the language areas found in Pasos 1 as well as introducing essential new ones appropriate to the needs of learners at this level. Books one and two introduce and practice all the main structural areas of Spanish through clear presentation and realistic practice materials based on everyday topics and situations. A range of authentic texts and visual materials is fully exploited through a variety of tasks all designed to involve the learner in realistic, communicative practice. The emphasis is on practical, oral communication. There is grammatical support with notes in English given in summary at the end of each unit and in full at the back of the book. The course comprises a student's book and a support book/cassette pack. The support book contains tape transcripts and key to exercises as an aid to the independent learner. The course elements are also available in a complete pack.
