[Helps] students learn how to think like nurses and use clinical reasoning in decision making."…. [T]he updated second edition includes a new organizational flow based on content areas (i.e., medical-surgical, psychiatric-mental health). Additionally, new chapters include updated evidence-based practice guidelines, and medical record illustrations promote a realistic learning environment…. [T]he objectives are worthy, as this book provides countless examples and thinking exercises to aid student nurses in recognizing clues and applying cognitive skills to accurately assess and hypothesize outcomes…. [T]his book is a great resource for student nurses seeking to evolve their clinical judgment… [and] ensures the most up-to-date information for students preparing for examination." - ©Doody’s Review Service, 2024, Rachel K Filer, MSN (Rush University Medical Center)
