Media Reviews
Military planners and intelligence analysts have traditionally used threat analysis… The argument is that, for a variety of reasons, the target-centered approach is better than older forms that focus on the source of the threat… Recommended. After analysing the nature of modern security threats, Mandel proposes what he calls a 'target-centered conceptual approach' to better recognise, assess, prioritise and manage them. He uses the cases of the Iraq War, the 2004 tsunami, the London Transport bombings and the US illegal-immigration debate to illustrate his approach. * International Institute for Strategic Studies *
