Media Reviews

'A captivating book.'

* Undiscovered Scotland *

'Muir of Ord writer Moira returns to the intense relationships of sisters in a family where an accident sabotages their lives. The closeness of Daniel and Caroline is convincingly created...as is their sprawling Aberdeenshire family with its shifting feelings and rivalries as you follow their lives from 1958 to 2013.'

* What's On North *

'The writing is elegant and spare, with never a word wasted or a redundant cliche employed or an iota of sentimentality allowed. For Forsyth, wonderland is not a place but a state of mind'

* The Herald Scotland *

'Moira Forsyth's fourth novel is a captivating exploration into the inner workings of an ordinary, Scottish family and the consequences of a devastating tragedy.'

* The P&J *

'Forsyth is...a writer of complex subtlety and great emotional insight. There is something timeless and elemental about this novel, echoing the brief allusions to fairy tales and Lewis Caroll extracts she introduces chapters with. This is something new.'
